Our PDU can treat:

  • ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances)
  • POP's (Persistent Organic Pollutants)
  • PCB's (Polychlorinated Biphenyls)
  • CFC's (Chlorofluorocarbons)

Hazardous Waste Destruction using Plasma Arc

The PDU™ process is a patented “state of the art” electric-arc technology which is ideally suited to the effective hazardous waste destruction of Synthetic Green House Gasses (SGHGs), as well as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) such as Dioxins, Furans, DDT, Dieldrin, Heptachlor and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs).

There are many synthetic gasses that contribute to global warming, the most common being various forms of Fluorocarbons (eg HFCs). Fluorocarbons are commonly used in refrigeration systems and are also created as a byproduct of various industrial processes.

PDU™ is designed to treat concentrated hazardous wastes that others either can’t destroy or would rather avoid. The technology has been approved by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) in Australia and is currently being used in a number of critical hazardous applications such as the Quimobásicos HFC 23 recovery and decomposition project in Mexico, whereby the phase out program for HCFCs in developing countries is set by the Montreal Protocol.

PDU™ uses plasma technology , not high temperature incineration, in order to ensure clean , safe,  waste destruction. Hazardous Waste Destruction efficiencies can exceed 99.9999%.
